LEAD SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT CENTER PORTUGAL (FRONT/BACKEND)

Our software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how biopharma digitizes and automates bioprocess development to fulfill its purpose and bring highly demanded new medications to patients. Lucullus® and our Web-Applications are constantly being developed and improved as they need to handle different kinds of information from innumerable sources within highly complex and constantly evolving environments. Are you a dynamic and visionary leader with a passion for technology and cross-cultural collaboration? We are seeking an experienced Leader for our Software Development Center to drive excellence in both frontend and backend development. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing our new nearshoring office in Lisbon center, Portugal.

YOUR PROFILE

Among your responsibilities as the Leader for our Software Development Center in Lisbon, Portugal are:

Strategic Planning and Setup:

  • Establishing our nearshoring office, ensuring seamless integration with our existing teams.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define the center’s mission, goals, and KPIs.

Talent Acquisition and Management:

  • Identifying top-tier frontend and backend developers.
  • Building and leading a high-performing development team.
  • Fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Technical Leadership:

  • Guiding the team in frontend and backend development best practices.
  • Ensuring high-quality code, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborating with architects and product owners to align technical solutions with business objectives.

Process Optimization:

  • Implementing agile methodologies and efficient workflows.
  • Monitoring performance metrics and optimizing processes for productivity.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Software Development:

  • Performing software development and documentation activities.

Among your skills and qualifications, you bring:

  • Proven Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in software development, including leadership roles, as well as experience in working in projects with multiple SCRUM teams.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of frontend (JavaScript, Vue.JS, React, Angular, etc.) and backend (Java, SPRING, Node.js, etc.) technologies and RESTful services (design, build, and use), as well as knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems. Knowledge of database development is advantageous (JDBC/Hibernate/JPA). Experience with automation/communication protocols, as well as (bio-)process engineering, is an advantage.
  • People Skills: Excellent communication, team-building, and mentoring abilities.
  • Results-Driven: Passionate about achieving business outcomes through technology.
  • Local Knowledge: Familiarity and comfort with the local culture, business environment, and regulations is a big advantage.
  • English is required.
  • Valid work permit for Portugal.
