purpose
As a data analyst on the hotel operations domain you will have the opportunity to work citizenM’s rich data sources. You will be preparing dashboards and performing in depth analysis to provide insights in the operational activities around our hotels so that we can smoothen our operations and optimize our guest experience.
This role is part of the Business Intelligence Team, where you will be working closely with all functions in the team to transform data into wisdom for different disciplines within citizenM. As part of this role you will collaborate closely with the (hotel) operations team.

 key responsibilities

Collaborating on insight initiatives in an agile way together with all relevant business units.
Developing dashboards in PowerBI which allow relevant teams to generate insights and track performance around operational hotel initiatives such as food & beverage, housekeeping and guest satisfaction.
Identifying the requests for operational insights and together with the team separate the nice-to-knows from the need-to-knows.
Translating these requests into valid research questions.
Working with big data sets in our data platform to generate the required insights.
Translating these outcomes into useful insights and helping in preparing proposals for metrics and solutions.
Applying different data visualization and storytelling techniques in order to convey the message.
Since you will work closely with the hotel operations team you should understand what is happening at citizenM and be able to develop a strong network across within that team.
qualifications / skills

A genuine passion for data and the ability to combine analytical data skills with business knowledge
A bachelor (masters preferred) degree, preferably in the field of data analytics, data science or business analytics
Proficiency in the use of PowerBI
Decent understanding of relational modeling and relational databases (mainly SQL)
Affinity with a statistical (data science) programming language for advanced analytics, such as R or Python
Attention to detail and a creative mindset
Ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments
Strong communication skills – both written and oral – in order to convey complex analytical results clearly
You’re eager to understand and learn about operational processes and the data that is generated through these processes
