Software is eating the world. Will you help us in our mission to make this high-quality software? As an IT Due Diligence consultant at the Software Improvement Group you will advise technology and business leaders on business-critical software systems crucial to organizations they potentially like to invest in. You will accomplish this by tool-assisted source code investigation and proven risk and cost analysis methodologies together with great advisory skills. Typically, you will work project-based for 2 to 4 weeks per project together with a small team of technology specialists headed by a senior or principal consultant. You’ll simultaneously be working on multiple projects. You’ll reside at our headquarters in Amsterdam flying out to all sort of clients in all sorts of industries, national and internationally. Your main focus will be IT Due Diligence propositions which lets you interact with senior leaders who are looking to make an investment or who would like to sell an organization. You’ll be adding value by providing insight in the true value of the underlying IT system(s) explaining a technical story in understandable business language, allowing the client to make a fair risk-based decision.

 

Where you come in

As a core member of the consultants team, you will work autonomously and deliver on different project phases. Typically, your work will consist of:

  • strategic interviews with senior clients, understanding their needs and the context of the project
  • technical interviews with lead architects and lead developers to understand the technological context
  • code, documentation and infrastructure analysis in our SIG ISO certified laboratory
  • validate your findings with all stakeholders
  • presenting the results and provide recommendations to the client in understandable language

Requirements

  • Stress-resistant
  • Enjoys fast-paced short cyclical projects
  • A completed master degree in a technical subject
  • Analytical and able to simplify large collections of data
  • Self-starter
  • A writer of concise documents
  • Creative and convincing
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English
  • Experience with software development
  • Eager to learn

Nice to have

  • Experience in consultancy and project management
  • Experience with M&A or Private Equity for instance through an internship
  • Understanding of business management and boardroom issues
