Job Description

Auterion is looking for a talented and bright candidate to join our QA & Testing team with a start date of 1st of January or 1st of February 2020.

What you tell your family you do:
“I’m helping to build the world’s largest open-source ecosystem for drones by working with Auterion customers and with a global developer community. Together, we construct, fly and test the latest technologies and ensure that we build the safest software stack for drones. No, I will not deliver you a pizza with a drone (just yet)!“

What you really do:
In this position, your core responsibility will be assembling drones and maintenance of the “Drone Assembly Workstation”. And, of course, the fun part, flight testing!

In detail you will:
- Prototyping: You will design, construct and manufacture components for the testing fleet and its reference platform.
- Electromechanical integration: Mechanical Design, 3D printing, soldering, assembly, mounting and wiring of electronic subassemblies.
- Maintaining testing fleet: You will assemble and maintain the fleet existing and future UAVs.
- Flight Testing: You will be part of the team, responsible for product testing. Flying, flying and flying!
- Inventory management: You will maintain an established inventory level of drone components and equipment. You will organize a clean and efficient workshop and supply room, by improving current processes and implementing best practices.

We would love to hear from you if:
- At least 2 years of professional experience in one of the following areas: automatiker, elektroniker, polymechaniker, prototyping or similar.
- Have completed an apprenticeship in a technical profession or hold an Engineering Degree (FH).
- Have strong organizational skills and is able to manage several priorities at once
- Technical know-how, hands-on and passion for drones
- Solid understanding of electronics and exceptional wiring, soldering, and mounting skills
- You can work independently and can operate effectively in a team
- You are a self-starter and confident decision-maker
- You are curious by heart and motivated to learn
- B2/C1 English skills are required

How to really knock our socks off:
- Experience sourcing parts for prototypes and working with global suppliers
- Previous experience with inventory management, 3D printing, and drone assembly is an advantage
- Knowledge of fabrication methods such as plastic molding, sheet metal, milling, SLS, and FDM
