Studien belegen die positive Wirkung und Evidenz unserer Lösung. Das spiegelt sich nicht nur im öffentlichen Interesse, sondern auch im wachsenden Sales Funnel wider.

Mit wachsenden Sales steigen die Anforderungen an die Elektronik unseres Roboters – von der Stabilität der Schaltungen bis zur Effizienz im Dauerbetrieb. Gleichzeitig bewegen wir uns von Prototypen hin zur (Klein-)Serienproduktion, wo zuverlässige, reproduzierbare und optimierte Elektronik entscheidend ist. Deshalb wollen wir dich in unserem Team: um die Elektronik unseres Navel auf das nächste Level zu bringen, Serienreife sicherzustellen und damit die Basis für die Skalierung zu schaffen.

Navel enthält einige selbst entwickelte Elektronik (STM32), um Motoren zur Fortbewegung und Bewegung zu steuern und Sensoren für die Navigation zu überwachen. Auch Mikrofone, Lautsprecher, Kameras und Displays sind teilweise über eigene Elektronik angebunden.

Deine Aufgabe

·         Weiterentwicklung und Pflege der Elektronik für unseren Navel

·         Fehlersuche, Qualitätsmanagement für die Inhouse-Fertigung

·         Optimierungen für Stabilität, Montierbarkeit, Kosteneffizienz

·         Abwicklung des Beschaffungsprozesses von PCBA und Kabeln für die Fertigung

·         Entwicklung einer anfahrbaren Ladestation

·         Entwicklung von Testständen etc.

Das bringst Du mit

·         Solide Erfahrung mit Altium oder KiCad

·         Du hast Erfahrung mit dicht bestückten Multilayer-Leiterplatten

·         Du traust Dir die Integration eines Jetson SoC, inklusive PCIe, HDMI, DSI, zu

·         Du schaffst es rauchfreie Leistungselektronik zu entwickeln, insbesondere DC/DC-Wandler und BLDC-Treiber

·         Du kannst die Signal- und Powerintegrität sicherstellen

·         Du hast Erfahrung mit DfT und DfM Praktiken

·         Deine Designs bestehen am Ende die notwendigen EMV- und Produktsicherheitstests

·         Du hast die Eigenverantwortung, den Elektronik-Teil eines komplexen Deep-Tech-Produkts selbstständig zu vertreten

·         Du hast Fähigkeiten und Motivation, am Lötkolben selbst dringende Reparaturen und zu testende Änderungen durchzuführen

·         Erfahrung, in kleinen interdisziplinären Teams mit agiler Ausrichtung zu arbeiten und sich im  Startup-Umfeld zurecht zu finden

We are a well-coordinated, interdisciplinary team of around 14 experienced colleagues who have successfully mastered one of the most complex challenges of our time: the development of a robot figure that looks like a living being, whose sympathetic presence touches people emotionally – and which is already having a successful impact in social work today. Our product is never finished: It is constantly being developed, regularly receives new functions and continues to grow in close cooperation with partners in the field. In this way, we are creating a product that provides relief and enhances the quality of social work – today in the care sector, tomorrow in many other areas of social work.

With over 60 robots sold and a broad response in media such as ARD, ZDF, ZEIT and Süddeutsche Zeitung, we are bringing social robotics into everyday reality. And that’s exactly why we’re looking for you!

As sales grow, so do the demands on our robot’s electronics – from the stability of the circuits to efficiency in continuous operation. At the same time, we are moving from prototypes to (small) series production, where reliable, reproducible, and optimized electronics are crucial. That’s why we want you on our team: to take the electronics of our Navel to the next level, ensure series production readiness, and thus lay the foundation for scaling.

Navel contains some proprietary electronics (STM32) to control motors for locomotion and movement and to monitor sensors for navigation. Microphones, speakers, cameras, and displays are also partially connected via proprietary electronics.

These are your tasks

·         Further development and maintenance of the electronics for our Navel

·         Troubleshooting, quality management for in-house production

·         Optimization for stability, mountability, cost efficiency

·         Handling the procurement process for PCBA and cables for production

·         Development of an accessible charging station

·         Development of test benches, etc.

What you should bring with you

·         Solid experience with Altium or KiCad

·         You have experience with densely populated multilayer PCBs

·         You are confident in integrating a Jetson SoC, including PCIe, HDMI, and DSI

·         You are capable of developing smoke-free power electronics, especially DC/DC converters and BLDC drivers

·         You can ensure signal and power integrity

·         You have experience with DfT and DfM practices

·         Your designs ultimately pass the necessary EMC and product safety tests

·         You have the personal responsibility to independently represent the electronics part of a complex deep tech product

·         You have the skills and motivation to carry out urgent repairs and changes to be tested yourself with a soldering iron

·         Experience working in small interdisciplinary teams with an agile focus and finding your way in a startup environment
