General requirements

Education

BSc Mathematics & Computer Science, Computing, Software Engineer or related field. Solid web development experience could serve as a substitute.

(Candidates with previous start-up experiences preferred)

MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, SVN/git, C++/C-sharp, PHP and/or Perl

We’re currently looking for an intern to work with us over the summer working on our website search engine ranking and conversions via search engine optimisation, pay per click advertising and retargeting. You won’t be making tea or buying lunch, this is a chance to work on live projects and get real industry experience.

Working within our marketing team, you’ll become part of a driving force behind cutting-edge disruptive technology.

What you will be doing:

•    Running, managing, monitoring and optimising PPC campaigns across a range of search engines
•    Monitor, analyse performance, and identify areas of opportunity, including increasing revenue and performance
•    Prepare and analyse daily, weekly and monthly reports on customer metrics
•    Monitor market trends and competitor activity
•    Website analysis and amendments/suggestions for improvement
•    Spotting new search opportunities and keywords
•    Link building research – looking for potential advertising partners online
•    Analysis of in-app analytics (Flurry)

You will need to have:

•    Comfortable working with HTML, WordPress and Dreamweaver
•    Experience using AdWords and Google Analytics
•    Familiarity of SEO, PPC and retargeting

You’ll be responsible for architecting websites and slick web applications from the ground up, making decisions on which technology we use and sharing knowledge with the team.       Creating object models using configured database schemas and entity descriptions

       Ability to quality assure work of junior developers and communicate ideas and concepts to other members of the development team

      Unit testing experience and experience with other QA methodologies is also necessary to some level.

      Any web based business applications experience, working with creative agencies and competence with JavaScript is a real bonus.

      All projects are well project managed with in house project managers using Jira, Fogbugz and agile methodologies

      Must show a high level of organisational skills and be highly productive and self- managing.

About you: You will be a software engineering guru who is able build a sophisticated dating website and complimentary mobile application, turning ideas into powerful code from the bottom up along way. Time is of the essence in delivering this project as this is a genuine first to market opportunity so I am looking for someone who is 100% committed. I am flexible, however, in terms of your current employment status.

Salary: There is no immediate salary on offer. In return for your commitment to this start-up we will take ownership of this idea by forming a business together, the terms of which will be discussed on an individual basis. There may be a requirement to invest a very limited amount of capital into this project but my intention is to grow the business organically. Our time and effort will be rewarded in time!
